Our Story
We’re Kevin and Julie Anne Smith — a husband-and-wife team from Dublin, Georgia, and the proud hearts behind Oconee River Dachshunds. Kevin’s a seasoned paramedic, Julie Anne’s an ER/Home Health nurse, and together we’ve spent our lives caring for people — and now, caring for the dogs that feel like family.
We both grew up with Dachshunds, and now we’re raising our kids alongside them. There’s just something special about this breed — the stubborn charm, the loyalty, the way they make even the smallest moments feel big. Our goal is to raise healthy, happy, well-socialized Dachshunds with the same love and attention we give our own.
Each puppy in our home is handled daily, loved endlessly, and treated like one of us. Whether they’re destined to be a family companion or part of a show line, we believe every Dachshund deserves to start life surrounded by care, patience, and heart.

As a nurse and a paramedic, we bring the same care, attention to detail, and compassion to our dogs that we do in our work. Health and temperament come first — we carefully pair for genetics, color, and personality to produce well-rounded, social, confident pups.
