Bocephus “BoBo” Smith II is our foundation stud here at Oconee River Dachshunds. He’s a chocolate-based red miniature smooth Dachshund. Bo carries himself with gentle confidence and the kind of affectionate temperament that makes Dachshunds so beloved. Bocephus — AKC Registered | Full DNA Profile Completed

Bocephus (Bo) has been fully DNA tested to ensure responsible breeding and healthy, predictable litters. His results make him an exceptionally versatile and safe stud prospect with strong genetic clarity.

Genetic Highlights:

  • m/m (Non-Merle) – Safe to pair with dapple females; will never produce double-merle litters.

  • b/b (Recessive Chocolate) – Can produce chocolate-based puppies when paired with a chocolate or chocolate-carrying female.

  • D/d1 (Dilute) – Will pass dilute to all puppies, allowing for blue, Isabella, and other dilute variations when matched with the right female.

  • PRA-Affected – Bo does carry the gene for Progressive Retinal Atrophy. Female must be clear. 

  • S Locus (S/sp) – Carries limited white spotting/potential piebald influence.
